Market Basket is a local truck farm producing quality, organically grown vegetables, fruit and eggs. While we are not "certified organic," most of our seed stock are heirloom (true seed, not engineered) and organic. Many people appreciate the natural and organic pest controls and fertilizers as we strive to reduce the chemical imprint of modern society on our lives.
How We Began
As a Chef certified
and experienced in operating high grade commercial kitchens, most
recently 13 years with City Club of Lafayette and River Ranch, we adhere
to the highest quality standards. Furthermore as a Chef of almost 30
years, I have come to know what goes into our food supply, hence our
decision to grow organic.
The process of organic
certification is a 3-4 year process, and we look forward to moving up
that ladder as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we continue to use
OMRI products and do not use conventional insecticides or fertilizers.
